Dirt Modified Racing

Steve turned heads immediately when he began to race his #00 modified at the age of 15. During Arpin’s first year behind the wheel of a race car, he claimed the Emo Speedway Track Championship. Arpin went on to defend his title at the Emo Speedway again in 2000, 2001, and 2002, dominating the competition and capturing every feature race at the track during those three years.

In 2003, Arpin started traveling into Minnesota and Wisconsin to race on a regular basis. Arpin broke into the spotlight in Minnesota and Wisconsin by being the youngest driver to win the prestigious WISSOTA 100 at the age of 18. He then went on to win the next biggest race in the area ,the Silver 1000, both post-season invitationals under the WISSOTA Promoter’s Association banner to end the ‘03 season.

In 2005, Arpin challenged the national scene and proved his talent by winning 31 dirt modified races across the country, including the Young Guns Shootout in Georgia, the Featherlite Fall Jamboree and the Gopher 50 in Minnesota and the Carolina Clash Modified Series in North Carolina.

Arpin had another banner year in 2007, winning the UMP DirtCar Winternationals Championship and the North Florida Nationals Championship. By the end of February, Arpin had already won 7 of the first 9 races of the year. Arpin then conquered North Dakota during the IMCA Dakota Classic Modified Tour by winning every heat and every feature for five straight nights. Arpin racked up 18 feature wins and 42 Top 5 finishes, under 6 different sanctioning bodies, while racing at 38 different tracks in 22 different states and Canada throughout the ‘07 season.

In 2008, Arpin moved his focus to asphalt racing and took home Rookie of the Year honors, while driving the #35 for Carl Edwards R/E Technologies in the USAC Silver Crown Series.
